Liveaboard Dive Trips vs. Island-Based Day Trips

Island-Based Dive Trips:

  • • General Requirements:
  • You must stay at one of the towns of the inhabited islands (Puerto Ayora or Puerto Baquerizo) and make daily dive trips to nearby dive sites with one of our dive centers operating there.
  •

Experience Required:

Open-water dive certification

Recommended for:

Casual divers who do not dive every year, but who are looking to get a glimpse of the wonderful underwater world of the Galapagos.  Also for experienced divers who do not want to take a full 8 day diving trip.

Liveaboard Dive Trips:

• General Requirements:

Take a 7 night / 8 day trip on a dive-liveaboard around the archipelago.  These trips offer anywhere from 15 – 22 dives throughout the week.

Experience Required:

At least an Advanced Open Water certification

Recommended for:

Dedicated, adventurous divers, who dive at least on a bi-yearly basis, and who have had experience diving in currents.
