Galapagos diving is done from dinghies (called pangas in Galapagos) because it is not possible to anchor directly over the dive sites. The dinghies are roomy, stable Carib 20 foot rigid hull inflatables.
Lammer Law's trimaran design makes boarding the pangas easy. Two sets of wide steps lead down to the water level base platform. With the panga resting securely on either side of the main hull all you need to do is step in and sit down. Fins and cameras are handed down separately to avoid any slips. The pangas are also used for the shore excursions.
